Following the plenary vote on the European Parliament report on the European Commission’s Green Paper on a 2030 framework for climate and energy policies, Dr. Graeme Sweeney, Chairman of the Zero Emissions Platform (ZEP) said: “We commend the efforts of the ITRE and ENVI committees in drafting this report. The agreement on a GHG target, which is in line with the EU low-carbon economy roadmap for 2050, although at the lower end of the range being considered, is an important step toward achieving our climate change goals. However, we urgently need EU support measures to ensure that CCS is widely deployed by 2030".
